Why is it called Miss Lacey ?

The cafe & wine bar is named after ‘Lacey St’ which is the intersecting street upon which they sit. The Lacey Family were one of the first families to inhabit the area from England. Gregory Lacey and his wife Sarah came to Australia in 1870 and in 1880 Gregory purchased 56 acres of land including the land that the cafe sits on. Gregory had the honour of naming the town, he decided to name it after his wifes home town in England “Croydon’ as his home town ‘Steeple Bumpstead’ did not have the best ring to it.

Tennille wanted to make a place for locals and vistors to enjoy a Breakfast, Lunch or an afternoon vino and charcuterie board, strongly supported and encouraged by partner Tamara and family, including Piper the little toy poodle.
